Hotel Review: Fairfield Inn & Suites Princeton – Solid Stop for Road Trippin’ Teens

Hey, I’m Mateo from This Teen Travelz, and today I’m reviewing the Fairfield Inn & Suites Princeton in Princeton, West Virginia. My family and I stayed here on a road trip heading south, and even though it looked like it was in the middle of nowhere, this hotel surprised me in all the right ways.

Let’s break it down 👇

First Impressions: Middle of Nowhere Vibes, But Don’t Judge Too Fast

From the interstate, this hotel seems like it’s in the middle of nowhere—but it’s actually close to cool places like:

  • Pipestem Resort State Park
  • Princeton Railroad Museum
  • Winter Place Ski Lodge
  • Concord University
  • And only a short drive to Virginia Tech

Check-in was quick and easy. The staff were super friendly, and finding a luggage cart was a breeze. Shoutout to whoever designed the clean, spacious lobby—my sister and I had a late-night UNO battle there without bothering anyone.

🧳 And yes—I’m the official luggage guy on road trips. It’s a tough life… but at least I get snack privileges.

Room Review: Clean, Fresh, and Exactly What You Expect

We stayed in a Double Queen Room, and it was:

  • Clean ✅
  • Comfortable ✅
  • Basic—but in a good way ✅

If you’ve stayed at a Fairfield Inn before, this will feel familiar. It’s not flashy, but it gets the job done. This one felt newer, which was a bonus.

Wi-Fi & Tech: Surprisingly Strong Signal in the Middle of the Mountains

Now let’s talk about the real priority: Wi-Fi and gaming.

  • Easy connection on all my devices (phone, laptop, iPad, Switch)
  • Surprisingly solid speeds—even in the middle of West Virginia
  • Streaming and online games worked great

Console setup was smooth too:

  • Easy to connect my Nintendo Switch to the TV
  • BUT — limited outlets in the room ⚡
  • Pro tip: Bring a power strip! Saved me again as we were all scrambling to charge our devices after a long day in the car.

Pool & Outdoor Hangout Spot

We didn’t swim this time, but the indoor pool looked good—on the smaller side but heated, which is awesome. The big surprise? A cool outdoor patio area with lounge chairs. Too bad it was raining or I definitely would’ve chilled out there.

Breakfast Vibes: Free, Stocked, and Waffle-Approved

One of the best parts of a Fairfield stay is the free breakfast, and this one delivered.

  • Waffles? ✅
  • Froot Loops? ✅
  • Restocked regularly? ✅

It had everything a tired teen traveler could want. The only downside? If you want lunch or dinner, you’ll need to drive 5–10 minutes. Nothing’s within walking distance.

Final Verdict: Road Trip Win ✅

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Princeton is perfect for road-tripping families looking for a clean, comfy, easy place to crash.

👍 Staff = Friendly
👍 Wi-Fi = Fast
👍 Gaming = No issues
👍 Breakfast = Good
👎 Dining = Drive required
👎 Outlets = Not enough (again, bring a power strip!)

Despite being a quick stop, I really liked my stay here. It’s now on my family’s go-to list when we’re heading south again.

And come on… how can you not smile when you’re in West Virginia?

🎵 Almost Heaven, West Virginia… Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River…

(Okay, I’ll stop singing. Maybe.)

Whether you’re catching Z’s, catching Pokémon, or catching waffles at breakfast, this stop was a win. See you on the next leg of the trip!
