Hotel Review: Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel – Chill Vibes & Comfy Rollaway Beds?
Hey, I’m Mateo from This Teen Travelz, and today I’m reviewing the Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. This was my first time at this hotel, and while it wasn’t your typical action-packed teen destination, it was a really solid spot to relax and reset.
Let’s get into it 👇
First Impressions: Modern, Massive, and Convention-Ready
The first surprise? This place is way bigger than I expected. It’s connected to the Saint-Hyacinthe Convention Centre, so the outside looked brand new and super sharp.
Inside? The lobby was stunning—easily one of the nicest I’ve seen. Huge open space, a lobby bar, and tons of seating. It honestly felt like walking into a hotel from a travel magazine.
✅ Bonus:
- Staff were friendly and spoke English
- Plenty of luggage carts
- Underground parking (huge win in the winter)
Room Tour: King Junior Suite + A Rollaway Surprise
We got upgraded to a King Junior Suite, and it was spacious. Like, actually spacious.
Breakdown:
- Entrance hallway + big bathroom
- Table and two chairs (perfect for drawing or Dad’s laptop)
- Coffee station, microwave, bar sink, and tiny fridge
- Huge leather L-shaped couch facing a wall-mounted TV
- King bed section separated by a partial wall (no full door, so less privacy)
Now here’s the fun part: the couch wasn’t a pull-out bed. I was wondering where I’d sleep when someone rolled in a rollaway bed—my first time ever trying one! My sister and I did a best-of-three Rock-Paper-Scissors match to see who got it. I won, and honestly, it was super comfy—like, more comfortable than some actual hotel beds.
One downside: no carpet, which I liked for the clean look and allergy-friendly vibe. But the room did lack real separation between spaces, which made watching two TVs at once a little chaotic.
Wi-Fi & Gaming: Decent Speed, But No Console Hookups
The Wi-Fi was solid across my phone, laptop, iPad, and Switch. I had no issues with speed—Roblox ran fine, and I was able to chat with friends on Discord while gaming.
BUT… if you want to connect your console to the TV, forget it:
- TVs were wall-mounted with no HDMI access
- No outlets anywhere nearby either
This hotel gets a ✅ for internet speed but a ❌ for console setup.
Pool Vibes & Pokémon Gym Jokes
The indoor pool was super nice—just the right size, warm water, and lots of lounge chairs. The fitness center was right next door and looked well-stocked… not that I used it. I’m more familiar with Pokémon gyms than real ones 😂
M Club Lounge = Mid Breakfast, Great Space
Thanks to my dad’s Marriott Titanium Bonvoy status, we had access to the M Club Lounge on the top floor.
Breakfast? Honestly mid:
- 🥚 Hot food? Just egg bites + oatmeal
- 🥣 Cold options? Cereal, yogurt, fruit
- 🥯 Bread, bagels, peanut butter, jam
- 🧻 And they ran out of napkins. Thankfully, my mom always carries tissues.
The lounge itself was still a great space for chilling, grabbing drinks/snacks during the day, and spreading out if you don’t have a suite.
Restaurants Near the Hotel – Mateo’s Faves
There’s not much to do near the hotel, but there are plenty of places to eat within walking distance. Here’s my go-to list:
- Cora’s – Best breakfast spot (great pancakes & fruit)
- St. Hubert – Rotisserie chicken + unlimited coleslaw
- La Cage – Sports bar with popcorn at the table and big TVs
- La Belle & La Boeuf – Top-tier burgers + awesome vibe
- McDonald’s – Fun regional items on the Quebec menu
- Poulet Rouge – Healthy chicken bowls with lots of options
Need snacks? There’s a Walmart and Super C close by too.
Nearby Activities: Mostly Chill
Don’t expect tons of attractions right by the hotel. It’s connected to a mall – Galeries St-Hyacinthe (great in winter), but:
- 🛍️ It closes early (5:30 PM when I visited – Monday and Tuesday)
- 🎥 The cinema only shows movies in French
So yeah—this is more of a low-key, recharge trip.
Final Verdict: For Chill Teen Vibes Only
The Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel isn’t the spot for teens looking for high-energy fun, but it’s perfect if you’re looking to unplug, slow down, and chill. I read, drew, swam, and got to try out a comfy rollaway bed. There were plenty of places to hang with my sister and play some UNO matches too.
Would I stay again?
✔️ If I want to chill = yes
❌ If I want to game = nope
✔️ If my family needs a reset = definitely
Pro tip: If your family has M Club Lounge access, skip the breakfast and head to Cora’s instead. But the lounge is still a great hangout zone during the day.
Sometimes it’s cool to change pace and just enjoy the slower side of travel.
Whether you’re diving into the pool or a game of UNO with your family, sometimes the best trips are the ones where you just chill. Stay curious, stay comfy, and catch you in the next review.
